Special Announcement: I Have Won a Writing Award.

Feature Stories

'Will write for food' sign

Those who regularly follow me via social media might remember a while back I announced that I’d won my first writing award – but I wasn’t yet allowed to say what it was! Well, today I can. And I’m super happy, with sparkly fairies on top, excited to announce that I’ve been chosen as a 2015 top writer on (my favourite website) quora.com.

For those who don’t know, Quora is an awesome question and answer website, with over 400,000 topics to pick from and millions of regular users asking and answering questions daily. I love Quora, and it’s one resource I use as a writer to get firsthand accounts from people in a range of fields. Want to know what it’s like to be a Navy SEAL sniper? On Quora you can find out. Users also ‘upvote’ the answers to questions they find useful, and top writers are considered based on ‘consistency, quality, and thoughtfulness’ of their answers.

I also re-post my feature articles on Quora, and from this, get into some in-depth (and sometimes heated) conversations with people from all over the globe. If you look closely at the image below, you’ll see that next to my name there is now a top writer ‘feather’ (it’s actually a quill and ink pot, but ‘feather’ is easier to say :p)

Katerina Simms 2015 Top Writer Award

Anyway, thank you to each any every one of my followers, whether you’re a Quora user or not. I am always humbled and amazed that there are people who actually read my work. I cannot wait for the next year ahead and hopefully I’ll have a book out for everyone to read within that time.

XO

Katerina Simms

P.S. Quora top writers also get a gift, I don’t know what it is yet, but when I get it I’ll be sure to show everyone. 😀

Hope you enjoyed today’s post. I love reading and responding to everyone’s comments, so feel free to leave a comment of your own.
