Today’s feature video isn’t my usual funny selection, instead I’ve picked something more on the thoughtful side. This is a scene from the BBC show, Doctor Who, and I just loved the premise so much that I had to share it with my readers.
In this episode the Doctor takes Vincent Van Gogh time traveling to the present day to see just how loved his work turned out to be. Anyone who knows anything about Van Gogh will know the famous painter lived a tortured life in which his work was very much unnoticed when he was alive. The brilliant speech delivered by actor Bill Nighy is a gorgeous and heart wrenching piece on the value of taking one’s pain and turning it into something beautiful.
This video speaks of more than just art and left me wishing that Van Gogh really could come back and see the impact his work had on the world. I hope you like this just as much. The video is quite small, so just hit play and then the arrows at the bottom right of the viewing window for a full screen play. xo
Hope you enjoyed today’s post. I love reading and responding to everyone’s comments, so feel free to leave a comment of your own.
